Just Wait Until They Hit High School

"Do not be deceived; God cannot be mocked.  A man reaps what he sows.  The one who sows to please his sinful nature from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.  Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." Galatians 6:7-9 Our lives are filled with opportunities to decide how we will respond.  We can choose to be positive and "look on the bright side" or we can always expect the worst and quite frankly, anticipate getting it!  We occasionally heard people say, "Oh your kids are only in elementary school, wait until they hit middle school" or "Your kids are in middle school?  Wait until they're in high school!  It's brutal!"  I'm of the mind that if you expect the worst, you will get it!

With our older two, we tried facing the high school years with open minds, not knowing quite what to expect.  We didn't buy into the scare tactics of anticipating six years (and another four later with Ben) of tribulation...We had invested in them well...

What we got were ten fabulous years when the guys were develop-ing their own personalities...they became their own persons...we began to see glimpses of who God intended them to be...

Yes, our high schoolers presented new challenges in this new season- but we decided to love it.  Those years may well surprise you too...
